Make your own jelly and explore what makes it wobble.
Jelly is a NETWORK made up of water and tiny wriggly strings (POLYMERS).
In warm water the strings stretch out and slide past each other (a LIQUID), in cold water they collapse and stick together (a GEL).
Materials
You will need:
A container
Jelly cubes
Warm water
A spoon
A mug
How to make a jelly network
Please wash your hands.
Add 2 jelly cubes to a mug.
Ask an adult to cover the jelly cubes with a little warm water and use the spoon to mix the cubes in the warm water.
When the cubes have dissolved, add some cold water.
Transfer the jelly liquid mixture to the container.
Place in the fridge to set.
